Common LEED Misconceptions:

A person can become LEED Certified.

No. The USGBC only certifies buildings, not people! LEED Accreditation is awarded to individuals that pass an exam based on the LEED Rating System.

Only products that are LEED certified may be used on a LEED project.

No. Again, only buildings are certified by the USGBC, not people, products or materials. Materials may, however, have to meet specific requirements to earn LEED credits.

There is a big difference between a building that is LEED registered and LEED Certified.

Yes. Any building may become LEED Registered by submitting your project online. LEED Certification is only awarded after an extensive review of your project, typically well after construction is completed.
